‘We’ve Got Your Baby’: Photographer’s newborn photography reveals her joy and pain
Photographer Kristin MacLeod has never given up on her newborn baby photography career.
“I’m always working on the same thing,” she said.
“Every year, I try to take photos of my baby at the same time, so I know how my baby feels.
I want to share them with the world.”
The baby’s first birthday in March is a perfect example of MacLeod’s work ethic.
MacLeod, who works for the New York City Department of Public Health and sits on the board of the National Association of Photographers, said she was “bored” when she first gave birth to her first son in October.
But then her husband, Scott, and baby boy, Jack, came to her rescue.
Macleod said she has been sharing her work online since March.
“The first time I shared it on Instagram, people started responding immediately,” MacLeod said.
“I started to get really excited when people responded, so we were like, ‘We have a baby, and we’re really excited to share this.'”
MacLeod is now sharing photos from her latest baby photo shoot with the tag “#wegotyourbaby,” a reference to the popular Twitter hashtag that started trending last week.
“We were like ‘We’re going to do this again and we want people to know how awesome our baby is and to be a part of it,’ ” she said, noting that she is excited to continue sharing her photos with the public.
“It’s such a joy, because I’m able to share what we do and how we do it,” she added.
